Hi, I’m Ali!

I am a self taught pencil portrait artist working solely with graphite pencils to create that classic monochrome effect, that is timeless and beautiful. I absolutely love what can be achieved with just a pencil and paper!

Based in the UK, I live with my husband and three beautiful children in a small village nestled in the Warwickshire countryside. We are a family of animal lovers and have a variety of our own pets, including a gorgeous Golden Retriever called Lottie, three rabbits and three chickens!

From an early age I combined my love of animals with my passion for drawing, however, in 2011 this was put on hold whilst I concentrated on raising my family. After an incredibly busy, and emotional 10 years navigating life challenges, I finally picked up my pencils again.

My dad, who was a very talented international artist himself, could see I had a natural talent for drawing and believed I could take it further. He has inspired me, along with the support from family and friends, to pursue a career as an artist, doing what I love to do, just draw!

I completed my first commission back in 2021 and instantly fell in love with the process, and the joy it brought to people who received my work. I’ve continued creating portraits of pets, wildlife and more recently, people. Alongside local commissions, my work has also travelled overseas to clients in America.

With three children and a collection of animals to care for, life is often wonderfully hectic! I fit my artwork around family life and I genuinely enjoy every part of the process, from the first sketch, to the fine details and finishing touches.

I am a perfectionist by nature and take great care with every portrait, striving to capture not just a likeness, but the character and personality of the subject. Creating a meaningful piece of artwork you can enjoy for years to come.
